Black and Gold Super Bowl

All fortnight long critics and commentators were saying what the Saints need to do to beat the Colts. No one thought of the reverse.

For some reason, this didn’t feel like a Super Bowl. Madison Hall (where I watched it) was not as crazy as I thought it was going to be. I could be probably because most of the students went to Academy to get their saints shirts, or we knew it was a win after porter intercepted Payton’s pass. I still lost my voice though.

There were a few key moments; the field goals at crucial moments, Manning being off the field for about 45 mins, the unexpected onside kick, two points conversion that was ruled incomplete, and after the challenge, was ruled complete, the Porter interception.

The Saints break numerous records – Hartley kicking 3 field goals over 40 yards, Brees throwing 32 completions (tying ), most total completions by both teams, first successful onside kick before 4th down.

Amongst all the "coincidences" associated with 44, the Saints win Super Bowl 44 with 44 seconds remaining on the clock. That’s ironic, should I say. The “’Rag tag’ team wins,” according to my friend, Chris Brown. The team with lots of free agents wins. Who does that?

Brees could not help it; tearing up, and not being able to get enough kisses on his son.

On a lighter note, there were a few funny commercials. I loved the etrade commercial with the “milkaholic,” and the Doritos commercial: “Keep your hands off my mama, keep your hands off my Doritos.”

Back to the point; call us what you want; Cants, Aints, Saints… Warner, Farve, and Payton were all legends, before they met with the black and gold. I prefer, “Legend killers.”

Who are we? Saints! Who are we? Saints! Are we ready? Arhoo! Are we ready? Arhoo! This is NEW ORLEANS!!!!!!!!! Arhoo! Arhoo!! Arhoo!!!
